On the box this games states that it is for ages 4+. Unless you have a child that plays video or computer games constantly, ages 6 and up would be more appropriate.

This game consists of 10 activities, each associated with a different car. Completing the activity unlocks the race secret for that partiuclar car. This allows McQueen to beat that car in the race.

The activites are cute, but require less problem solving and more hand-eye coordination. None of the activites are particularly educational, but it is still fun. Unfortunately, the way the game is set up requires the player to complete all 5 levels for each activity in order to get the secret. Many of the level 4's and 5's are too hard for kids this age (unless they play nintendo or xbox all the time) and so you have to help your kids through them. My son, who just turned 6, loves the game, but he needs help with the higher levels on some of the activites as they require quick memorization (Ramone's dancing moves), or good hand eye coordiation (Speed trap).

It would be nice if they had a "setting" for younger vs. older kids (younger kids could win after 3 levels), but otherwise it is still a great game. If you are looking for some pure fun and not a lot of educational value, then this is worth it. If you want an educational component, then you will be disappointed.

My 6 year-old loves this. Looks great. Fun, challenging games.

HINT: Play slow the first time. Unlocking other items depends on beating your original times.

I made the mistake of believing what I saw at this game's official website. There's a "trailer" movie and also a downloadable demo that you can play on your computer. These have some great road race action, even a multiplayer split screen mode...but none of this exists on the actual Windows/Mac game! Just ten childish activities, and boring drag races against ten different characters from the movie. (Not that I care, but Sarge's Obstacle Course doesn't work at all, at least not on my computer.) Having thoroughly enjoyed the free demo on my computer, I was extremely disappointed to find, once I received the "full" purchased product, that I had been duped. If you want the great things that are shown on the game's website and in the demo, you need to buy the Playstation version, which does have the road races and other cool stuff. This Win/Mac game is for little kids. Poof! There goes yet more of my hard-earned money down the drain. Oh, and I don't own a Playstation, so there will be no Cars game for me. It's a total loss. For what it is, I guess I'd give this version three stars, but since it's not what I was led to expect, I'm giving it only one.
