Good
I've had a Fenix L1P, an earlier version, for many months and loved it. But when the L1T came out with 3 watts and a 2-stage switch, I had to have it. I was not disappointed. The extra brightness and the two-level switch make a whole new light. It's small (3.5" long) and easily carried in a pants pocket.
It's not advertised but the head on the L1T ( 1.5 volt AA battery) is the same as the more expensive L2T (3 volt, 2-AAA batteries), which means, technically, you can operate the L1T at a 3 volt level if you can find a 3 volt battery the same size as a single AA. My solution was a Duracell CR-V3 camera battery split in half. It has two AA-size 3 volt batteries in a package that can easily be split apart. This means that the L1T can be even brighter with longer battery life. What a great little light!
After a little research I came to the conclusion anyone who enjoys flashlights should own one of these, and boy where the people right, this light is "capable" of 3 watts or 75 lumens, but you need to use a 3.7V lithium ion battery or something similar, yes your reading this right, this little light can use any battery that fits in its frame rated at .9v-4v,this gives you some stuff to play with if you want, more simpler though you can use one AA battery and get 37 lumens,I use rechargeable Duracell AA 2650mah get the highest MAH(basiclly means more juice in the battery) you can find. The light is ultra compact not much longer than my medium sized index finger, exellent quality it should last a very long time. Also impressive is it comes with a sheath to carry on your belt, two spare O-rings,and a lanyard,i've never seen that much included with a light.I have many favorite flashlights but for everyday carry, quality, power, size and all the extra's its packaged with this is my #1 light of the year maybe favorite of all..
These flashlights are real nice! I wish they came in anodized bright yellow or pink so they could be spotted when they are dropped at night. A side push button switch would be better then the 2 handed rotate type that these lights have. Great brightness!
Just got my light today and it is everything I hoped for. I started off shopping for a 3 watt led light with a holster for my belt and this was the best one i came across. I was debating between the fenix L1T and the fenix P1 and decided on the L1T because of the pushbutton on/off switch. www.flashlightreviews.com helped me make my decision too. they classified the P1 as keychain light, but the L1T as a more rugged outdoor use. I didnt need 6 different light levels. 2 was enough for me. At first i didnt like the idea of turning the bevel head to change between light levels but once i got it and played with it, it wasnt so bad at all, if anything it seemed like a great little idea. I did find it hard to buy though because its made in China, and im trying to stear away from buying china. but i got over it. Ill primarily be using it for various uses, but it is the perfect light for cleaning and inspecting equipment....and blinding evil co-workers.
