Huh? Other countries only take us seriously right now in the same sense that a 5-year-old kid with a machine gun should be taken seriously. That is, we're taken seriously in the sense of being feared because of the current administration's dangerous mix of militancy and incompetence.

But if you mean being taken seriously in the sense of being respected, an ape being elected to the white house would be more respected abroad than George Bush. Certainly any of the candidates of either party would be more respected, at least initially. However, given that Hillary Clinton is the most experienced, most centrist, and most intelligent of the candidates, she is more likely than any of the other candidates to keep that respect well into her presidency.

If other countries were take us seriously, it's not because the president is a man. It's because the president is getting things done and positively bringing the country back to the top. We've had an idiot for a president for awhile now, so we can't get any worse than that.

But I'll have to admit, some countries may not like women being in charge so some might not take us seriously, but eventually if she pulls through, they'll have to because she's not a little bug that they can squash whenever they want anymore.

Most european leaders have high upbringing and as such treat women in leadership roles with the utmost respect. Senator Clinton should be afforded no less respect
