I'm a female and I don't believe that the words "ho ho ho" from Santa Claus is offensive at all. I mean it's tradition. We've grown up with this for so long it would be strange to hear Santa say, "ha ha ha." What if the child was oversensitive and thought that Santa was mocking him or her?
But when you really think about it, why DOES Santa say "ho ho ho?" That's because he IS laughing when the children come by. Because he is a heavyset jolly old man, his "ha ha ha's" sound like "ho ho ho's" Just imagine plump old man with a white beard laughing as his eyes are closed and his pulled back as his hand is on his belly.
You can't discriminate a person's laughter because it's a homophone to a bad word.
Everyone's culture is different. Santa is an American thing, so if we were to educate the cultures about the background of Santa's famous phrase, hopefully they will be more accepting. If not, then that's fine, but it's tradition. It's the same as not allowing the indians do their rain dance in their outfits because we don't like their provocative clothing and ways of dancing.
