What's the best IM client?

I'm voting for Trillian even though I have no basis for comparison since I've never used Pidgin. It's a nice combination of IM services and its default away messages aren't as annoying as Pidgin's.
If this were open to more clients, I'd for vote Adium because the interface is the best (and if you don't think so, it's fully customizable). Unfortunately it's for OS X only, but if they can make Trillian for Macs, maybe someday there will be Adium for Windows.

i cant really take a side on this arguement, but ill take the green side seeing as i prefer an environmental approach when uncertainty is in the air
if you ask me, windows live messenger
if you dont have an email compatible with messenger, then i just simply wont be talking to you
if you hate microsoft that much, you dont deserve my social interaction anyway
