That's an excellent point anonymous.

I've changed my mind. Kudos.

After being able to digest it for a while
(and having enough time to get over the
fact that one of the best shows ever made
is really finished), I'm going to have to
say that the ending was perfect.

The Sopranos was a show that always toyed
with viewers expectations and had a realism
about it that made the viewer feel like they
were watching real people in extraordinary
circumstances.

It is that very realism that helps make the ending of the show so very perfect in execution. It had the high amount of tension that Tony would almost certainly have to live with on a daily basis, but it also had that unique sense of closeness and family that the show excelled at portraying.

The way that our little window into the lives of these characters was cut off so abruptly was a nice way of David Chase saying to us, "Ok! It's done! Time to move on folks."

Thanks for the clean break David, it was a HELL of a ride while it lasted.
