if you want my opinion, i take blu-ray simply as its the choice of sony & all my personal electronics products are mostly sony

they have done no wrong doings to myself & their products only continually put a smile on my face when i use them

hd-dvd has its benefits, but honestly, i'm just tired of all these segregations when it comes to technology

first it was dvd-/+r/rw, now its blu-ray vs hd-dvd...

atleast when it comes to things such as wireless networking, 802.11a/b/g/n, they all work together quite happily

has anyone ever heard the term COMPATIBILITY

make the consumer happy, give the consumer what they want, not what you think they need

sure, come up with new ideas & innovations, but LISTEN TO THE CONSUMER

also whats with this HDMI business anyway, this special feature on this device needs HDMI v1.3 and it wont work with 1.2 and but another device only has 1.1...

USB 1 & USB 2 work quite happily together, ofcourse the throughput is different, but that just goes back to the whole 802.11 wayo f things, different speeds, but they all work together

too many boys playing with their toys & not enough collaboration

awards & innovation mean nothing if in the end you just separate the consumers & ultimately turn them away from a product which would otherwise take off like the coyote after the road runner on an acme rocket
