Zune 2
Second time's the charm
the fact that they are bringing along V1 users is a great move, though I am not the first to note this. And I suspect that the strategy involves a lot of patience on MSFT's part. I'm no loyalist but I really liKe my V1 Zune.

A lost cause
None of the new features are compelling enough to steal much of Apple's grip on the MP3 player market, and even with the buzz surrounding the launch, consumer awareness of the Zune is practically nonexistant. I'd guess that, except for those who follow tech/gadget news, people don't even think about buying an "MP3 player" anymore. They think about buying an iPod. Those who go with another brand of player probably do so for price reasons, and the new Zunes are the same price as the equivalent iPod models (based on capacity, which is the primary distinction at retail).
